Euros

Just watched News Hour panel discussing Bush's trip to Europe with three Euros and Richard Pearle from the U.S. When I said the Euros are clueless, I was wrong. They are beyond clueless. They continue to be the most self-centered bunch imaginable, sipping wine and going to the opera, thinking they can solve everything with the magic of unenforced words and Diplomacy. All under an umbrella provided by the U.S. taxpayer, whom they look upon with scorn and derision.

This is how we ended up with so many American cemeteries over there, especially in France. The quotes from the French were hilarious. At one point, Pearle asked the French panelist if France was going to defend the U.S. against Sadam Hussein. That concept had clearly not occurred to her, and she quickly asked if the U.S. was going to defend France. Pearle just laughed, since France has spent the last couple of years kissing Sadam's ass and trying to undermine U.S. policy there. (They wouldn't let us overfly their territory during the Gulf War, you may recall, and they've done all they can to help him move his oil.) I guess the panelist forgot that the U.S. spent a good chunk of the last Century getting France back from the Germans and legions of French collaborators. Whoever takes France next should get to keep it, and good riddance.

The history of the world is of boots going upstairs and satin slippers coming down. I give credit to Bush for holding his nose and dealing at all with this bunch of twits.

Disgusted,
Byron
